Munkle is a range of premium, fun, beach shorts for guys and kids, which aims to bring fun and excitement to a pretty dull category. XOXX worked with Munkle to develop their logo and brand identity.
XOXX was approached by a brand called Munkle D Hausen to help with their logo and brand design. Our first step was to question the name, as we thought it was a bit long, and difficult to understand. We quickly came to the agreement that Munkle on its own was a far better name.
The icon. We wanted to create a face/ character as an icon that could be used as the logo, across social media and as a recognisable icon on the clothing itself. To make reproduction easier and to ensure that it would work across all formats the icon was designed in just one colour. The icon is is simply made of 12 circles laid on top of each other… again this helps with reproduction, as you can always check that the circles are perfect circle, and haven’t been squashed or stretched.
Slogan: ‘Beach Wear for Primates’ has two meanings. Firstly, we humans are all primates, and we should all move and have fun outdoors like primates do… it’s fun to monkey around in your Munkles. These shorts are shorts you should wear to monkey around in, so they are shorts for your inner primate. Secondly, Munkle works with International Primate Rescue, as their nominated charity and even names their different shorts after different primates from IPR, so by buying Munkle you are both channelling your inner primate and helping primates in rescue.
